What to get for Birthday !

Postby cardshark » Aug 26th, '07, 12:23

O.k, my birthday is coming up soon, and I was wondering whether I should expand my magical possesions somewhat.

So, I decided to look for insructional things rather than single tricks.

I am currently waiting for Dan and Dave's Trilogy, and for my birthday I am going to ask for Bobo's Modern coin magic (the $10 or less version, not the £26 one with loads of pictures).

I also already have 13 steps, Derren Brown's Trick of the Mind and both Ninja 1 & 2 from Ellusionist.

So, what I'm asking is, what is some really good material that I should ask for for my Birthday? My main aspect is cards, and I think that books are worth more than DVDs, but if you have any suggestions on what you think I should get, please help me.

I would rather books than anything, because I think you learn more from them than from other things like DVDs, and they are usually good value for money.

Can't argue with that, I read it cover to cover 35 years ago and it's just as valid today, a must read!

If you want to get something besides RRTCM (it being basically $10) get the cullfather from big blind media. Every card magician needs to learn the cull)

DON'T Buy that Magic Makers DVD set  It will ruin your birthday when you open them and we want you to have a happy day

The books are actually the same but with different covers as a quick glance at the authors names will reveal.

The world is your Oyster - why not use the opportunity to go for something completely different to cards?

Well, if you get lucky, you can get RRTCM for about £1 on ebay.

I would also reccomend getting hopping halves. Im not into coin magic much, but this is one trick you will get - read the instructions and use. Its got some great ideas for patter in the instructions. I carry my 10p/2p version with me at all times along with a deck of cards.

All the best,
Croz
