THnaks for the tip.....

Hey, thanks for the tip – I’ll look out for it, my original Sanctum card is getting a little worn from overuse!

Seriously though - there is no one effect that appeals to everyone - Sanctum2 certainly will not appeal to everyone, and that's fine by me.
Every time you part with cash on an effect you are taking a risk - we have all given up money to something that turns out to be a piece of worthless junk in the end.....
Rick and I have worked really hard to ensure that this is not the case with Sanctum2 - Sanctum2 is very, very much more than Sanctum1 - as the reviews will testify. I doubt that you will want to put this one on Ebay - still, it's your cash......

The first batch of Sanctum cards are arriving to customers and reviews are starting to get posted. So far all of the feedback (on the forums, and through personal Emails) have been excessively positive - scarily so, in one or two cases. Look at this Cafe thread if you want more info 'http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=222505&forum=109&start=0'.
BTW, as a UK person, I would much rather be posing a link on the Cafe site to the reviews on Talk Magic....

Hey,
I am considering purchasing this effect, but I am still a little hazy on what it does
The 'Room' effect... is this some sort of hypnotic effect? What does it do exactly?
Sorry If I'm a little vague

Thanks in advance,

Mr Ben

What is all this Sanctum thing?

Postby Dr.Spirit » Aug 28th, '07, 17:07

Hi

Have a look at the link I gave in my last post - if you read the reviews, this will give you a pretty good idea of if the effect is for you or not.

Basically, it is a utility device with a load of suggested routines, tips, and some quite deep thinking.

The idea was to produce an item that could be used pretty much straight away to get a few quick and easy effects. Beyond this, the card gives you a premise and context for your work that will pique the interest of whoever you perform this to. Beyond this there is some quite deep stuff that will require some study and practice.

It is anti-trick and pro-experience.

Err, does that help?

Thanks for showing an interest.

Just thought I would clarify an earlier reply I made to Dr.Spirit - I was not going to put Sanctum on E bay as I didn't like it - just thought if mine was the last one ever made I could make hundreds profit selling to a collector!!!

Dr Spirit - Thanks for the info :)

I think this is just the effect I've been looking for, no doubt this will be showing up in my post in couple of days!
Thanks again!

Mr Ben

P.S Sorry about the double post, don't know what happened there

Got mine today, can't wait to start playing around with it. My first impression was it's amazing how much stuff they have managed to put on this one small card and yet it looks perfectly innocent. A real treasure chest of possibilities.

What is the difference between sanctum2 and the version with sanctuary? What is sanctuary?

Also, how is this difficulty wise, to someone interested in beginning Mentalism, but with limited experience?

Sanctum 2

Postby Peter Veran » Oct 26th, '07, 21:16

Sanctum 2 is not recommend for beginners. There are some aspects that are easy to perform. Sanctum2 may start simple, but it becomes a complete course in mentalism, a lot of the information in the book is very 'cutting-edge'.
It is Sanctum's plan to induce beginners into a deeper level of understanding. I do not think that this is what you are looking for - my advice is to stay well clear of Sanctum.
The fewer that have Sanctum the more comfortable I feel. THe information in Sanctum should be restricted.

haha. Is that because it's so good you want to keep it to yourself? Or is this from the heart honesty? I would like to get into mentalism, so I have been thinking about this and Between The Lines, but I am getting the impression this is the equivalent to starting coin magic with the Muscle Pass.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "starting coin magic with the muscle pass"

The manuscript is very concise and the private forum has tons of stuff on it, that said, you still must "perform" sanctum 2.

It is not a trick that performs itself. It requires a "presentation". Once again the booklet details the entire presentation, but if you are not a "storyteller with decent presentation abilities, you may not be ready for this.

Thanks!
