I called Barry and Stuart a W****r!

Postby Beardy » Aug 27th, '07, 18:19

Yup. Very pleased I am ;)

Got back from Reading Festival today, and they performed one of their routines with the "3rd person story telling".

"Then...somebody shouted from the crowd 'Show us a card trick, w****r!'"

So, having seen this routine before, I shouted it out, knowing it was coming.

Had a fair few people stare at me...but hell - I got to call Stuart a W****r, live! :D

Heehee, I wondered who that was. Got me and the mates chuckling. Good festival though eh?

Yeah they went down well, nothing taxing in terms of methods but great presentation as usual. The last trick where they turned a bottle of water into a bottle of wine was good and prompted an argument between myself and another magi as to whether it was a gimmicked bottle or a switch. I guess I'll never know.

Didn't catch the Pumpkins, by that point of the festival I'd had enough of the nasty common people wandering around in their hideous droves and had retired to the VIP tent to speak to more rareified types. unfortunately it turned out to be full of 'do you know who I am?' record execs and their wag wannabe hang-ons but there was free booze so what the heck.

the water to wine is very very simple. It is neither a gimmicked bottle - it can be done with a borrowed unopened bottle - or a switch of bottles.

Very clever method...I use this often.

Figure that one out ;)

damn you're cool chris! Ha Ha.
Although I suppose this comes under the same heading as me hitting Dynamo in the head with a playing card, it was a very well (or possibly massively horribly) aimed playing card mind.
