Sanctum II

Postby DrTodd » Sep 5th, '07, 09:53

This is a great video that highlights the many possibilties to the amazing follow up product to Sanctum. Rick and Chris have worked hard to bring us a fantastic new product that slays the first version and represents the pinnacle of pocket mentalism.

I will use this thread to post a review, but please indulge a small digression.

I was in Chicago last week on business and had a few hours in the Art Institute of Chicago, where I picked up a CD that has recordings of mediums doing psychometry using artwork from the famous artists Joseph Cornell.

Cornell produced these amazing little collage boxes using all sorts of items, like little glasses, blue marbles, globes, music scores, etc. I looked at a collection of his stuff and thought 'wouldn't it be cool to create a "memory box" or mystical box that contained a collage of images and objects that would draw on the types of psychological forces found in Pyschological Subtleties I and II, as well as Naked Mentalism?'

I returned from Chicago all enthused about this new idea and then opened my post to find Sanctum II, which effectively achieves this idea with only a small business card-sized image, combined with the Sanctum I material. The card is nicely made with additional figures on the Sanctum I side, and a photograph with so many images relating to forces that you are truly spoiled for choice in presenting this effect.

The film shows you the high quality graphics and almost 3-D feeling to the picture. You are truly entering the sanctum and your participant will follow you on a psychological journey through the inner realms of the sanctum in their own heads and then see that their own thoughts are confirmed on the card.

I could see doing this effect with a small pocket magnifying glass on a chain, or one of those magnifiers with a light attached. You are in a dark room with only candles, you invite your participants to imagine the sanctum and then reveal their inner thoughts using the magnifier.

This would work well with 'Between the Lines' and Mark Edwards 'Bundles', and other seance related material.

Rick and Chris should be congratulated on pushing back the fontiers of mentalism! The price is right as you receive the card plus a 46-page booklet on presentation ideas.

I cannot recommend this product more highly for those wanting to perform cutting edge pocket mentalism.

10/10

You guys have really tbought through this one. I was up at midnight reading through the material and enjoying all of it. The bonus effects are also brilliant. I love the art collection effect and the chips are down method. And then you had to go and tease me with the Deluxe version? Shame on you

Cool...you will not be disappointed. There is a nice bonus effect that combines the wallet with the card.

What is the difference between sanctum2 and the version with sanctuary? What is sanctuary?

Also, how is this difficulty wise, to someone interested in beginning Mentalism, but with limited experience?

Sanctum 2 is sanctuary.

It comes with a very comprehensive booklet. Sanctum 2 is a bit advanced in concept, but it will give a beginner several basic mentalism concepts to practice and hone.
