Hello Hello

Postby Sargin.Pepper » Sep 4th, '07, 21:37

Greetings!

I'm very new to magic but have been intensely practicing every single day since picking up the cards my girlfriend left in my room 2 weeks ago. I'm still perfecting my Ambitious Card Routine (the Marlo Tilt part is still rough) but I pretty much got the Biddle Trick, Ultimate Card Transpo, 2-card Monte and Vernon's Triumph down pretty good. Since learning the above mentioned routines, I have been testing them out in-field which, I believe, drastically helped me fix my delivery and patter.

I just found out about the Pass two days ago and have been continually practicing to make it really smooth and almost invisible. I'm ready to buy my first tutorial DVD and I'm wondering what's the best one that covers the Pass.

I mostly learned the sleights I know from a couple of books (DL, false shuffles, classic force...). The routines I learned by watching David Blaine's DVD and applying the sleights I've learned from books so I'm not entirely certain if I'm doing them correctly.

Blahblahblah.

Again, Hello everybody. My name is Jeremiah and I'm glad to be part of this forum. I'm excited to learn from all of you.

Hi and welcome to TM, sounds like you're learning well. If you've not come across it yet, Royal Road to Card Magic is a great book for learning card magic.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everybody :)

You're right, Lady of Mystery, Royal Road is a great book. It's one of the two books on magic that I own (the other would be Dai Vernon's Inner Secrets of Card Magic).

Well if you ever feel the urge to buy anoter book then Mark Wilson's Complete Course is a very good one. There are some lovely card effects in there and it'll also give you an intro into all sorts of other areas of magic if you wanted to go that route.

Hi and welcome!

I'd say the best place to learn the pass is Richard Kaufman's 'On the Pass' DVD.
