Trust me. Use your real name. It's great.

I thought about it but didn't think it was catchy enough

I like your real name.....do you actually perform on stage or do you specialize more in close up?

I struggled with this question myself but eventually decided that I would use "the magic of..." as a marketing name. I feel that 99% of my work is done close up, roaming, restaurants, street, and some small light stage work....and because I am in an intimate enviornment and working face to face with the specs I felt that it was important that they felt they were dealing with "Me" not "smoke and mirrors" so to speak....I went with my name and it has served me well....

yeah, stick with your real name. it's different enough to be memorable / eye-catching; plus it adds a bit more class than being called "the great travisio" or somethng.
i still wonder whether to just go by Lawrence Turner or not sometimes. i could be The Great Lorenzo, but maybe not. maybe i'll just go with my alter ego: Gabrial Tobias.

Heed what the wise ones above say! Your real name is catchy and different enough to be memorable and identifiable without being unnatural or pretencious.

Id go with your real name, though for me, going by the name Howard Thurston, or Harry Kellar, just doesnt work too well, people seem to react more to David Blaine or Criss Angel

I mean, what kind of a name is Henry Gifford (by the way if youve got a better name for me, please do offer)

My real name is in fact Rob Laughter... People THINK it's a stage name. Unfortunate.

P.S. It's pronounced "law-ter."

It makes sense if for example you think of the word slaughter which would sound out this way.....

he he he, you can't spell "manslaughter" without "mans laughter"

If my second name was Laughter i'd be called Lawrence Laughter not Lawrence Laughter!

If I ever start to get famous for the darker side of my magic, I may change it to Paul MacAbre. That's my idea, so don't none of you bums thieve it, understand!?

Hello.

Nothing to add here, other than to say that your real name looks great, Travis.

But I have to ask: How, phonetically, is it pronounced?

We in England are very picky about pronunciations, you see.

The entire class system is based on such things.

Remember the old Kim Basinger fiasco?
I do. I was a teenager in the nineties.

In the darkened theatre, the audience wait with hushed anticipation, the band plays suitable fanfare/attention grabbing music with a drum roll, the MC does the voiceover:
'Ladies and gentlemen, sit back, realax, and be prepared to be amazed, baffled and entertained by .......the Magic of Travis!!'.

Sounds good to me - don't change it  !
