Marked deck miracles

Postby Trickyfied » Sep 11th, '07, 02:16

I know we have to be carefull of exposure but can any one share their routines they use with a marked deck? I tend to do a routine I made up called 'poker face' I explain that by thier expresions and subconcious reactions I can tell what card they have. They choose any card from the pack, I then show them differant cards and slowly eliminate suits etc. 'OK, I can tell from your pupils dilating slightly that your card was black, and possibly a spade' and so on...

My own marketed "Poker Faced" effect does what yours does, but impromptu with a borrowed deck. 8) I think the best way of using a marked deck is probably indirectly. Try stacking it, having a spec take a free choice from a fan, cutting it, spotting the top card and working back through the stack. It's a far more powerful use of the marking system for the fact that you've been nowhere near the choice of card.

borrowed deck

To do my routine with a borrowed deck would be impresive can you tell me what publication that is in? I know a way to do it that involves a set up and then a peek at the cards to know which one is missing (13 if that makes sense) with any deck. I only called my one poker faced because I ask them 'do you play poker', and go on to explain what 'poker face means, and how we can read facial expressions etc is that the same as yours? 8) I'm going to pm you on another matter, thanks Tomo

Just follow the link in my sig. You don't name the card itself, but it's predicated on reading the micro-expressions of recognition the spectator gives out when she sees her card.
