The Magic Attic wrote:Just a quick note if your are playing music as part of your show you will need a PPL & possibly a MPCS license.
PPL is a public performance Licence - http://www.ppluk.com/
MCPS - Mechanical Copyright Protection Society - http://www.mcps-prs-alliance.co.uk/Pages/default.aspx
More information - read this PDF - http://www.ppluk.com/ppl/ppl_lf.nsf/PDFs/$file/PPLinfoSheet5playingMusicInPublic.pdf
Without a licence you can be fined upto £5000 per track.
Afterall the artist want to be paid for you using their music.
However the is another way around this and that is to use royalty free music.
One way to do this is to buy a pro backing cd. (Karaoke)
Someone like PSL PROBURN enable you to pick your own music and create your Magical Music CD
