Vistaprint

Some posters have mentioned Vistaprint before as a source of cheap business cards.

Word of advice - DON'T!!!

What these scammers do is when you order cards, they sign you up for all sorts of companies, like "Vistaprint Rewards" which then take £10 or so off your credit card every month.
It *may* be possible to avoid this by ticking virtually invisible check boxes when you order your cards, or by cancelling membership of these scheme, although I've spent the last half-hour trying to do so with no joy.
These companies are all off-shore, in places like Bermuda etc, so are not easy to deal with, and probably outside the jurisdiction of UK laws.

So I've just cancelled my credit card as the only safe option.

They rely on people NOT perusing their credit card statements closely.
Might be a good idea to check....

A friend of mine had a similar experience, he phoned them and they said something about not ticking the box not to have the additional services. Anyhoo, they took off the services and gave him a full refund from a few months worth of him making this payment he didn't know about and gave him his next order free.

So he was very upset with them at first but turned out happy.

Moral there, check all those little boxes to see if it's a tick or untick option, also good service with a problem buys you back your customer and they go tell someone how good you were.

I've had a lot of stuff of them and had no problems. If you go through the internet process right to the end and then cancel you get dirt cheap email offers. I've had business cards and postcards for next to nothing. I can't fault them !!

saxmad - I believe the problem you're having may have been an accidental activation on your part. I've seen the Vista Rewards program that comes after you place an order - but if you don't sign up for that, there is no additional charge. I would contact them and state your case. I'm sure they'll be willing to help you out.

Personally I think they're an excellent place to use. the quality is comparable to a standard print shop (you can't get top of the line custom work or anything "exotic"), and the prices are exceptional. Couple that with the fact that you get almost weekly coupons for free printing - you can't really beat it.

I have also used them lot's of times with no problems at all apart from the fact they e-mail me every single day but for the price of there product's I think I can handle that. Also the printing quality are of the standard of any other printers and I should know I was a printer for seven years before I took up magic full time.

I just put the word "Vista" into my filters and I don't get them anymore.

Thing is, you can find this kind of horror story about any company

I found out that if you click a link saying something like "£10 Back!" you are automatically registered with these other companies and your credit card details are sent to them.
The sheer number who have been taken in by this indicates something dishonest about it.

Anyway I managed to cancel my membership on their website.

Other people weren't so fortunate - emails telling them about their (surprise) membership were stopped by spam filters and by the time they noticed it on their credit card statements they had lost several months worth of membership fees.

It would probably be illegal in this country, but they are based in Netherlands and Bermuda.

That's interesting, I've used them for quite a few different things and never had any problems. I'll keep a close eye on my statements just in case though.

No offense sax, but it seems you clicked the link. It's not an issue of legality.
