Just bought Chappy Brazil's and bach's watch steal DVD

Postby SpongeBallSlight-of-hand » Sep 19th, '07, 02:31

First, I ask respectfully that people do not make fun or get mad at me on this forum for asking a few questions about this DVD. People on the penguin forum were quite rude to me when I said I owned my own magic business. But thats beside the point..anyway..

I recently bought this DVD, chappy brazil's and bach's watch stealing DVD. I have a magician friend who told me not to get it because it would be too hard to master. I asked (on the other forum) how exactly hard the watch steal is to pull off -- they rudely told me to watch the DVD and didn't answer my question. I want to know from someone else interested or experienced in watch stealing exactly how hard this is because I hope this wasn't a bad purchase and I hope I can eventually do it.

Thank you!!

if you can undo a girls bra one handed then your half way there.
if you can put your own watch on one handed then your half way there.
if you can do your shirt up one handed then............................

oh you get the picture my friend, the watch steal is all about dextrity and understanding the mechanics, its a lot like coin magic.
lots of practise of one move till its second nature for something that should largely go unoticed, thats why most people say its hard.

watch the dvd through a couple of times and then sleep on it, then go back through it and start practising.
i don't own the dvd myself but I'm sure its up there with the likes of lock picking and well erm coin magic.

Thanks for the reply! I'm sure if it's like coin magic I can get it. I can put my watch with one hand..that isn't hard at all!

I can do the four coin roll down and coin roll, so I'm sure if I can do those with practice I can do this!

I'm so excited, I'll probably get it tommorrow! :D

Blimey! At least buy the girl a drink before you assume she's 'up for it'.

I don't have this DVD but I have Stealing The Show which offers some good tips, The main thing, as with all magic, is practice, practice, practice.
Learn the different type of watches and practice the steps for removing them until you have it down as quick as you would a coin or card sleight and can remove a watch without looking at their wrist.
It does take some practice. Half of it is the removal of the watch, the other half is naturalness and misdirection.
