Ricky,

Your handling of the cards at the start of the trick was a little stiff. You use all your fingers on one hand, yet your other is clasped, almost as if you are hiding something.

If your handling of a card looks unnatural, this arouses suspicion in the spectator.

Try not to curl your fingers in on one hand. Practise some more in front of a mirror, and I'm sure you'll be posting a superior video within a couple of weeks.

As a routine, Torn needs you to be completely relaxed with the cards.

Hope this helps,

I am not done training with this effect yet so i havent present it to anyone.
From what i seen you really need to bring more focus on the card parts.

Specialy the third and fourth, you made it looks like you had those pieces in your hands already wich is far from what should be seen. Make sure everyone understand that your taking them from your pocket.

The same apply at start, the 2 pieces you put in your pocket can be shown so you should make a point that you put only these 2 parts in your pocket, showing them both side. This should be enuff for everyone to believe the other pieces in your right hand are as normal as the 2 other you shown.

Then when you stick the pieces togheter, you shouldnt have to simulate to be working hard, its magic and it should stick by itself in seconds.

Youve got all the moves in order to make the effect work so like suggested earlier just practice, practice and practice some more in front of a mirror as much as possible or at least everytime you think you improved to see if you really did.

As everyone else has said it looks a little stiff. Try to make it look more fluid. Also try to show a little more of the card when you can. Don't just give us a glimpse then cover it but try to continually show the card ( I know you can't do it the whole time but if you do it the majority of the time the spectator remembers you always showing it to them)

there's no two ways about it, if you wanna do card magic, you gotta buy loads and loads of decks of cards to practice with.

Bicycle seconds are the way to go when practising Torn. I went through a couple of decks, but when I was getting them for two quid I figure it was worth it.

I haven't done Torn myself for some time now so I'm a bit rusty. I'll be getting some more seconds and going through a deck before performing it to anyone again.
