Greetings, all. Just stumbled across this forum after following around a web thread or two. I'm a 39 year old male from California, USA. Hobbies including reading, writing (former journalist), competitive bridge/chess/poker/backgammon, boxing, and a few hundred other things. I'm a recent law school graduate awaiting bar examination results.

As far as magic goes, I'm mostly a hobbyist, though I do probably between 10 and 20 paid gigs a year, mostly through referrals from friends of mine who are working pros. Primarily close-up, particularly card magic, and a semi-speciality in mem-deck work; I also do mentalism and am working on tightening that up into a more cohesive character/routine (filtering down to a working repertoire from what I've learned as I've expanded from magic into mentalism). Looking forward to contributing to the site; I've read some interesting posts on some good threads.

Welcome....what area of California are you from? I did a wedding in Newport Beach last december and also did the "street magic thing" on Hollywood Blvd for fun while the rest of my family bought cheesy souvenirs.....love California!

I am from the Los Angeles - Orange County border, but now I live in Burbank, which is fairly close to Hollywood.
