Magic hour with Frank.

OK i have a deal here.
One of my friend cannot make it next thursday but its already scheduled so i been asked to replace him. It is going to be in an hotel living room and its going to be in english wich isnt my first language.

I already have an half-hour wich i've been working on for months now but im missing the other halfs...

Ill train on the paper ball OH routine i have wich should give me an extra 10-15 minutes.

The problem here is that im mising a good ending, i dont want to end a stage performance with my ACR wich i doesnt plan to do at all. But if i dont find anything else ill use the tricked deck i made from Daryl's ACR dvd.

Here is a quick resumed of the show im pulling out already.

1) Labelled (water bottle label going from outside the bottle to the inside while bottle is sealed.) Not sure yet if i want to open my show with this, it works a great deal in street but for stages...

2) Coin trough glass then ill follow with a coin trough hand routine using stuck as ending.

3)coin trough handkerchief immediately followed with cutting a hole in middle of handkie and restoring it.

4)The inch of wine that blow your mind (Signed card change within a wine glass using the handkerchief.

5)A mixed routine i created between Red hot mamacita and instant-transpo. Card is signed and a transpo is made at the end with the red card.

6)Paper ball Oh to be inserted somewhere.

7)ending to be define

8) I will for sure add 1 or 2 routines after ive reviewed my old notes books.

You guys have any sugestions, it would come in handy this week i believe.
Im expecting around 60 to 85 persons all well sitted in big sofas.

electric chairs should fill some time.
if you have a direct vision blind fold or similar you could do a sympatico card reading were a spec calls out the cards you project to her, both require a bit of couching.

tossed out deck.
cut and restored rope using long rope held at both ends by spec.
just a few ideas.

Thx i will look forward for ropes tricks but i dont have the proper rope types availlable.

I have found 2 routines i can do with paper balls and will fit togheter, thx to Gregory Wilson for the "On the spot" dvd, everytime i give it a look i find new materials to use.

I was maybe thinking of a mentalist effect too but ill pass on this as i dont have much time to train for new stuffs and i dont own any materials about mentalist except couple tricks there and there found on diversed videos and books.

Ive recently bought a PK ring and i dont find anything else then CTG/B to do with it. Maybe someone could bring me a good idea on this matter. Because im even thinking of not using it to avoid interferences with my other coins tricks.

Ill be very busy translating all my texts to english too but im glad most of my magic dvd/books are in english!

Else i dont use much gimmicks and i havent seen the electric chairs details anywhere. Im thinking into building the "Wrap it up" gimmick but im not sure about taking a gum out of my mouth in front of my specs...

Maybe i could use it for running around peoples before we start and giving them bubble gums! LOL

*I wish im confident enuff to pull out torn with the signed card and i believe card warp will not be seen from peoples in back rows. :-(

I still have some roughing stuff maybe ill remake myself an ID that could fit somewhere i believe.

How about Inivisible deck? I have done it where I have resealed the deck in a new package, placed it in a large see through canister and had it closed/locked sitting on the front edge of my performance table the entire time.....then proceed the effect as usual allow the ending to really emphasize the sealed/locked deck sitting in plain veiw the entire time....has worked well for me in the past.

You could make it very random in nature by throwing out one of your paper balls into the crowd and have the person that catches it come up...very random on all sides

PM...have a another idea that I can suggest if you pm me....basically card stuff but one that is very easy but stunning and involves a spec on the stage.

Thx ill pm you for sure.

Ive changed the whole concept of the beginning ill go straight to sofa from sofa with some effects im used already in the streets. Things like red lip stick trough spec hand, a dime for a penny inside spec hand, a special trick that happen under my feet and finish between the teeth... and ive build the wrap it up gimick today, its awesome and so easy to do. Ive bought some fresh gums and finnaly used the ballon that come with!

So ill make presentation at start and place everyone for a good sight of the show. I give up on labeled, it will be too complicated to make it seem impromptu. So ill start straight away with CTG and coin trough hand routine and handkerchief will follows up. The first spec to come will taste the paper balls, ill start the routine similar to a sponge ball routine to end up with the normal Paper ball routine.

Then ill go for some cards, if i have enuff roughing spray i think i may use the ID idea about having it sealed in a box from begining.

Instead of ACR ill change the rules a bit and will use an UCR (Unique card routine) and will use the pattern about how different uniques cards are and how they accordingly react diferent from normal cards to a simple finger snap. Ill go from cheating by changing the back of the chosen card to red to an instant transpo where the said signed red card change its face to a newly picked card within the spec hand. Then ill use only 2 ACr phases before i end up with daryls ACR ending.

I think im pretty close to fullfill my hour with mostly materials im already used with but i still want to have more then what is needed so any suggestions are still open.

Woot!
Well it was a good show, obviously some of the tricks ive done were not rehearsed for me at all and i did spot some stuff to ameliorate there and there. I most add the language barrier even when it seemed to be broked i still had to think to find my words wich did affect my performance a bit for all the timings.

The paper ball routines gave me the laugh expected and red hot mama in the spectator's hand untill the last transposition with the signed card was breath stoping.

There was 50 peoples aged between 55 and 80, opening my show by going to them, talking with them and regrouping everyone around where i wanted, really worked for me. Everyone could see a bit of what was gonna happen and they enjoyed to know me further then just magic.

Someone even asked me what was my first magic trick, somehow i had'nt practice that for ever but i still managed to get the illusion of the cigarettte going into the hand and vanishing for a quick reapearance from what seem a tottaly emptied hand.

The ending was just nice i think, i had that deck of red card prisonned inside a clear plastic box. ;-) Ive put at the begining right in middle of everyone, it wasnt a grasp of anyone although and i only said at begining it was a prediction i made while they were having dinner.

Then i had forgot about that and when i was about to tell everyone the show was gonna end i felt like everyone wanted more, a strange sillence established itself to be broken by a old man with a big white beard: "Hey what is that prediction you made?"

I think i was lucky that someone else had still the clarity of mind to think about my own final cause i would have been in trouble if i had made everyone start leaving too early...

Anyway i wanted to thank you moodini for that i really did get a great final reaction with I.D. in a box.

I used to do this trick by using an invisble deck in wich i get someone to pick an invisible card and to read me its name then turn it over and put it back in the ID.

I would even let the spectator shuffle the invisible card then when everyone believe im kidding i make it become visible and i look to see if the shuffle was properly done, normally there is only 1 reversed card...

But using I.D. as a predition really did the job as a last mystery tonight.
