First and foremost, why did you feel the need to expose the method behind the coin matrix?

Just because you found the video on you tube doesn't mean you have the right to post it on a forum. Granted, this method is as old as the hills - but blatantly exposing methods on page 1 of your blog is not going to put you in a good light with the audience you're trying to reach.

Secondly - you can't have a site that you want to advertise as professional, and have one of your videos playing a song with the lyrics "I want to f*ck you". Before you start thinking I'm offended, I'm not. However, professionalism goes right out the window with stuff like that.

Out of curiosity - how old are you, and how long have you been out performing as a professional magician/entertainer?

Didn't a similar thread about your blog get deleted?

Exposure is ugly. Be beautiful.

I'm going to be blunt... your blog is pure pipe. Blogroll? Bogroll more like! Here's some interesting quotes..

"The average consumer couldn't care less about Houdin's orange tree, or the see-through cups and balls, or whatever super-advanced one-handed triple false cut pass card move you can do. Your customers don't want to see art. They want the same stuff you've seen a thousand times. So just give them what they want."

"You're not a performer. You're a businessperson. It's not about you or the magic. It's about the service you provide and the problems you solve for your customers."

You're in the wrong profession. Have you ever had a paid gig?

And finally, a great quote!

"Exposure is ugly. Be beautiful."

I couldnt agree more with symtal. If you want to perform something and make money from it, dont expose the method... seems like common sense.

Just think of all the great magicians throughout history that protected these secrets from exposure and all it takes is one idiot with a broadband connection and mimimum typing skills and they're exposed.

Pointless... and missing the point about performing. Yes, be business like and mediocre.

Guys,

Thanks for the honest, brutal feedback. I'm going to make some changes to the blog.

The exposure vid is getting removed right after this post.

OK... here's the deal.

I used to make my living from magic. Full-time. Birthday party planning, trade-shows, restaurant magic, promotional items, video lessons... the whole deal...

I did this for a long time.

Since then, I've moved on to other more profitable ventures. I spent several years working in marketing for some very large companies. (I was the person who would hire the trade-show consultants) And today I'm a successful full-time entrepreneur (In a legit real-world business. Not this blog.)

This project was my way of coming back and giving something to the magic community. Yes, there's an AdSense block. But that's never going to cover my time for writing the posts.

This is a genuine labor of love for me. Think whatever you will. I'm here to contribute.

But I appreciate the feedback.
