Gaff Deck

Postby fonz1987 » Sep 17th, '07, 17:30

Was in Davenports the other day and was shown a great trick involving the Gaff deck. The specific card used was the one with Eight of Hearts woven into the back design. I was wondering if anyone has one of this card which i could purchase as i don't want to buy the whole deck for £25. Anpologies if i have put this post in the wrong place. If anyone is interested in the trick i can describe it. I thought it was a stunner. Cheers.

I don't have the deck yet, but I'd be interested in hearing the effect!

I think you'd be hard pressed to find this card for sale individually, unless some kind soul doesn't mind selling you the card from their own gaff deck.

So what was the effect?

Gaff decks are so useful I'd think you would be better off buying the entire deck.

Basically the magician pulled out one card as a prediction and laid it down on the table. i was asked to pick any two cards in the deck as long as they were together. I then looked at them and picked a favourite - 8 Hearts. The magician points out the back of the card and there it is woven into the design. Then he asks me what the other card i pulled out was and he turns over his to show it is the 4 Spades same as mine. Then spreads the deck to show them all different.

I realise it sounds quite simple but its presentation was great and to a lay person it would be a killer effect methinks.
Cheers for the feedback by the way just reckon I'm going to have to dig deep and get the whole deck.
Any good routines or effects, or pointers (apart from Army of 52)
Cheers for reading, sorry for the long post.
