Well, the trouble with this kind of illusion is that you *know* there's only one possible way it can be achieved. And that kind of makes it less a magic trick, more an entertainment piece—in this case, pretty close to a circus sideshow.
I am thinking there's some crucial bits we didn't see in the cut scene, but overall, I find this kind of thing a bit weird to classify... it's not an illusion, surely? It's not magic?
Anyone familiar with stage gear will notice two oddities about the props used, which I think give a clue to the legs.
Aside from that, it looks really, really weird. A nice act.
