I have searched for a review on this but have had no luck. I find it mentioned by Craig Browning in his menatlism sticky but would like to know if anyone has used this.

I am looking to beef up my mentalism type effects for a Halloween set I am putting together and wonder if this is a possible extra?

I've had a look at this too, but have (so far) decided against it, simply because it's based around something that we don't really have in this country. Yes, you can find 'New Age' magazines, but they aren't common, and you don't find minimagazines in supermarkets. I also had concerns about possible American spellings of words.

The effect sounds good, but I feared it might be unsuitable for the UK. A couple of the recent Becker and Earle releases have suffered from this too. I'd love to be proved wrong. Perhaps Craig can explain if that would be an issue.

If you're doing a Halloween show, why not get something that's more horror themed?

I've had this for quite some time.

Firstly, yes it is Americanised ie dollar signs instead of quids, but I haven't found this a problem as I explain that I bought it (the book) while on holiday.

Basically you get 4 mini mags (although you only ever need to show one), each book represents a 'season'....spring, summer, winter, autumn (fall  )

Each book contains horroscope readings for three months. These 'mini mags' are incredibly innocent looking, the artwork and design are appropriately naff and cheesy. The mags can obviously be handled/examined by the 'sitter'.

Some work and effort is required to get the best of this.

I won't go into the effect, as the advertising blurb is accurate.

I think this is a great way to improve ones intuitive 'Reading' skills with a surefire hit if all else fails.

I was one of the first with it and have probably taken it much further than the typical performer has envisioned as "practical" in that I am actually having the books printed with my own ad-copy inside (actual ads from local businesses) and placing them about town in various stores, gift shops & gas stations. This way I'm generating PR for me while having the books everywhere and thus "normal" to the common eye.

Josh and I have spoken at length about creating a compendium series of book masters for those purchasing the effect and looking at taking things to this level.

I am just now completing things on this action for the 2008 New Year. It's going to be interesting seeing how things work out. But bear in mind, my investment in taking this effect to this level is a testimony as to how strong it can be.
