I bought a puncture repair kit before (I dont have a bike

) and I was just wondering.. How do you remove the rubber cement once applied to your skin? I tried putting some on and once it dried it was quite tough to get off.. and I do remember reading somewhere but I forgot what to use to "unstick" it! Water didnt work very well

If it's anything like neoprene glue, you have to give it a good scrub with warm water and fairy liquid. I don't know why fairy liquid works so well but it does.

I don't often put cement on my skin, but this works for other surfaces...
Take a dried up ball of cement and roll it over the surface you are removing from. The ball takes up all the cement leaving a clean surface.

I use Evo-stick adhesive cleaner....I've been using it on rubber cement on various parts of my body for a while now and so far no nasty reactions on the skin.

A small tip
REMOVE any hair in the area your going to apply it to!

A soak in warm water will usally work, if you do find that it's hard to come off, A little bit of Nail Vanish Remover will help.

This is a def must or else it WILL hurt when you remove it - no matter what you use to remove it.

I found cellulose thinners works great - the kind used for thinning all makes of cellulose paint and cleaning brushes, etc after use. Mine cost £2.99 from a local hardware shop for 250ml, but I'm sure the bigger DIY stores will sell it cheaper.

Forget dangerous thinners etc... if you REALLY get stuck, use WD40.

I personally found water made things worse, I wait until its dry and rub it until it all comes of in little balls. Leaves the skin a bit red but that redness does not last as long as red skin from thinners etc.
