I'm on a 56k, so load up times are very slow...I've watched the first and am uploading the second as I type.

Anyway, regarding the first, as the hand moves in to cover the card, there should be NO showing that the card moves upward/forward. It should appear that you are simply covering the card with your hand. The pinky finger does the work as your hand closes over the deck, like a book being closed.

In what I watched, it is terribly obvious that you are pushing the face card upward/forward. What follows is painful to behold.

As you show the card has changed, it should appear that you are wiping away the old card, only to reveal a new one. Don't move forward, back, then forward again - make wiping motions, which will serve to misdirect the method that is taking place.

In other words, it should appear that you do nothing more than place your hand over the face card, then wipe the old card away. You've got to get rid of that whole, forward, back, forward again motion. It only reveals the technique of what you are doing.

The second vid just loaded up...

Just keep on working on it, man. Best wishes with this.

Mike.

Just re-read what I wrote...Doesn't quite make sense...

Obviously, you have to pull back to show the face card one last time (and do what you need to do).

When you pull back, it should appear that you are simply showing the card one last time. If you have done "the move" properly, then your audience will not realize that the card is forward of the deck.

Careful of your angles, as it should look as if the card still sits flush on the deck.

Then, as you move back to cover it, it is here that you shall begin the wiping motions.

Sorry for the confusion.

Mike.

Ok... I think the second video is horrible.
Cutting the video to change your card is kinda low... You can only show it on the internet, everyone will know it's fake then.
Ok, cutting the video is low... but doing it wrong????? No further comments...

Cutting the video to change your card is really low. But, that's my opinion.

Maybe true, but you already have ruined the effect by showing an obvious move of how it's done.
Seriously, even my little sister could figure out how it's done, and you really think the effect is still strong?

well fire your little sister is bviously cleverer than you then cos you came to the wrong conclusion of how it was done. i posted this on here so as to get some tips and advice of how to improve it which is what i thought these forum were for a place for magicians to be able to chat, share ideas, help each other improve and keep each other informed of whats new in magic. i didn't realise the forum was here just so you could insult other magician just because you don't understand somthing.
