I have something similar (not for sale) which is ferromagnetic 'silly putty', which isn't *hugely* magnetic, I must say. I got it originally for a trick which comes as part of the MonsterBertha package (which needs magnetised play-doh stuff) but it just wasn't powerful enough.

As far as I could tell, it was the same ferrous powder used in Neo magnets, mixed with silly putty. I imagine the wax is the same idea.

I would think it would take a fairly large amount to shim, for instance, a card...

Sounds like a great idea though!
