I Think that there are one or two others on this forum that have applied. I haven't unfortunately. By the way, so that we can get a clearer picture of you, ie what kind of magic you're into, stick an introduction into the introductions forum. Anyway, welcome to TM and I hope that you enjoy your time here!

(PS. we sometimes find txt spk a bit hard to understand, so if you could spell the words properly just so we understand what you mean :D )

James, 19, Lifelong student of magic and will carry on learning for the rest of my days if I'm a very lucky boy.

main reason i would not go is that magicians always come off looking bad on thease shows as they arn't given enough time to prepare and don't have the control over the seting like you do in a real world party situation.

second reason, don't have the inclination to be publicly humiliated and not get paid for it.

I think you could get put together a sweet juggling act, dude. Maybe do a finale when you juggle those three big bouncy balls with a friend.

I think that for a magician to do well you really need to go out there and grab their attention right from the off. And out of all the magicians I saw last year, none of them did that.

A magician on BGT will never do well unless they do something incredibly specatacular.
Obviously close up stuff is well out of the equation and large scale illusions are seen as cheesy by many. Most importantly all three judges last year stated they really dislike magic.
I reckon the only chance a magician has is if it is an incredibly cute kid....

For example if Derren Brown was an unknown he would be buzzed off straight away due to the amount of build up needed to sell an effect. Magic has an inbuilt disadvantage that time is needed to build tension or a sense of mystery. A singer can grab you with a first not hit or a comedian with a quick joke. I think for a magi this is much harder.

Dreadful programme full of dreadful acts watched by dreadful people. My proof of this is the fact that popera acts always do well on these shows. dreadful

Whatever happened to the magician with the ducks from last series?

I know we should support fellow magicians (not that I am a magician) - but it is funny to see routines go wrong sometimes - especially when they go as badly wrong as he did!

Anyway - I agree - unless you are really full on from the word go I don't think you will be given a fair crack.

That was just so unlucky for the duck guy, I don't remember his name but I've seen him a few times and that duck routine is usually very good.

During this previous summer's AGT, a ventriloquist won. Just thought I could add that little fact in there.

*FUN FACT!*
There are only 200 professional ventriloquists in the world.

I'd never go on and do magic, unless it was that kind where i produce a juggling ball....
