seige wrote:Purely down to 'testing the system' to see if customers are spinning me a yarn, I posted a parcel (only 2 decks of bikes) to myself on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Wednesday's parcel arrived on Thursday, I am still waiting for Monday's and Tuesday's. Weird.

I expect a minority of customers will take advantage of the disarray to claim they have not received orders, when they actually have. Image

I received Reel Magic the day after it was posted, but I'm still waiting for a DVD from Play that was posted nearly two weeks ago.

Funny you should say that... which is why I've started sending them 'signed for'...

Royal Mail told me that they will be delivering the post in order, old packages first. This clearly is NOT happening as items posted at the begining of the strike are just turning up. However, I recieved my Relic today and I'm happy 8) Thanks Tom.

I wouldn't pay any attention to what RM have to say - it's just luck of the draw at the moment. I think it will be at least a couple of weeks before things return to normal (assuming there are no more strikes in the meantime).

I ordered a blank faced deck from DTCM on wednesday, and it turned up yesterday.

A Wallet that I ordered and was (apparently) posted 2 weeks ago, from a company that shall remain nameless, for now, still hasn't arrived

I ordered a Monster Bertha from Beard and it took 3 weeks to arrive.

I also claimed some items off the giving thread from Michael Kras 3 months ago. You cant blame the postal strike for that :?

All the best,

Well, the pain still isn't over—even though the 'industrial actions' have ended...

I know now for a FACT that I've been victim of chancers, who have CLAIMED stuff hasn't arrived, when in reality it has. Thus leaving me in the unfortunate position of having re-shipped the items. At my expense.

How do I know?

Because one of the a$$holes who did so *claimed* they hadn't received their Bertha after 3 weeks... I re-shipped, because the customer is always right. I then had an advert posted to me from an anonymous source basically stating "Sale: Monster Bertha, unopened... the shop sent me 2 by mistake".

Well...

I INVENTED the Monster Bertha package. Nobody else is selling it. And I also have a customer list.

BEWARE to any other Royal Mail users who get told by customers/buyers that stuff hasn't arrived and a refund or re-shipment is needed.

It's not the money, sometimes... it's the principle.

No, that's not my way of doing things.

They aren't TM members as I am aware, so that isn't relevant.

However, after a rather stern email from me, the item was withdrawn from sale and is allegedly being returned.

If it doesn't arrive, there may be a little namesdropping.

I sent out six packages nearly two weeks ago, all First Class Recorded Delivery, and to date only ONE of them has arrived!

I know that some people are finding post getting through OK now but I can only assume that some sorting offices are 'in it' more than others. I can picture all my packages sitting at the bottom of a huge pile in Leeds somewhere!

Some of the packages I sent out were to guys here from my 'Items for Sale' list. I'd just like to say a big 'SORRY' to you all, although beyond my control I still feel responsible. I'd also just like to reassure you all that if your packages haven't arrived soon I'll refund you in full without question.

The Royal Mail in Leeds can barely cope as it is YP, I'm surprised they haven't just imploded

P.S. That's really naff Seige, I'm glad you emailed them. I emailed off after a brick of bikes from 808cards hadn't arrived after a very long time but typically they arrived a day or so afterwards so I've notified them, it's only fair.
My fake olives still haven't arrived though...

It finally seems that some sort of 'business as usual' is returning to Royal Mail.

Parcels I sent in the 'troubled weeks' of late September/early October are finally finding their way to customers.

The downside of this, of course, is that for many of them that I'd assumed lost in transit, I've already either issued refunds or re-shipments.

And I can't face another series of claims to Royal Mail... it pains me so.

Let's just hope all gets back to normal. Soon.
