hi, i recently brought the complete collection of the Art of Astonishment books, and have sen that the variety of tricks focus around card magic, and many are more suitable for table magic. I was wondering whether anyone could recommended a book of equal quality that gives a wide selection of impromtu magic, and stuff you can preform on the streets or for friends when you are not prepared.

Ive heard Gregory Wilsons dvd is good......

You've not read the series completely if this is your opinion....

You mean in the hands impromptu stuff? Well I'm more of a Card College person and quite a few things from there can be slightly re-worked to be in the hands.

For example I'm tweeking an Ace Estimation which is usually done on the table for the hands. Reason simply being that when I saw it being performed it absolutely blew me away so it was worth the effort.

If your willing, pick up the "Tricks" section of The Trilogy for just under 20 squids and they have a lot of in hands impromptu stuff.

Also being able to cull can set a deck up quickly right under the specs noses. So for that I'd recommend The Cullfather.

to be honest i would like to be able to perform away from cards aswell, i.e. perform magic with everyday objects, pens, books, tissuse paper etcif you catch my drift - lets say for example i forgot my deck of cards and i am asked to perform some magic....

A fantastic place to start, in my opinion.

I havn't got the mentioned DVD but Gregory Wilson's DVD On the Spot (if that's the one you are referring to) is great for the kind of things you are looking for.
