Criss Angel - Derren Brown for skate punks?

After seeing Derren Brown's psychic routines (particularly the waiter one) this is laughable. Shoddy presentation and he dresses like a 15 year old kid rebelling against his parents with his little Anarchy signs everywhere.
I doubt that anyone could take this seriously. They must have been stooges, or incredibly stupid, right?

Without special effects he just comes across as a really bad magician. A youtuber who got lucky. Really, at his age he shouldn't be dressing like that. It looks silly.

He is rubbish isn't he, what awful presentation. His look and the whole "MINDFREAK" thing make it impossible for me to take him seriously as a credible performer. I remember watching one episode with some non-magician friends, where Criss Angel drives a car blindfolded to a location known only to the passenger (which was some US celeb), i forget who. It was LAUGHABLE, my friends laughed their arses off, and all said "i can do that".

I was curious why he was going to place a stack on the cards, you'd have thought he could've gone to the effort of memorising a few sentences.

Custom R&S decks made to specification - PM me for details

Whether he's trying to seem mysterious or coming across as a "stoned immaculate" Jim Morrison type, I don't know, but he makes David Blaine's "patter" look like Paul Daniels.

The thing is, most of the E-loving yootoobers look up to him as a benchmark as to what a magician is. Is it kiling magic or will this influx of laughable illiterates make those of us that can speak & read look even better?

:D Thats great.

During those five minutes I felt like he told me everything about myself that only I knew... Amazing! I still don't know how he found out that I am a happy person though... creepy....

Im not a big fan of Chris angel - I just dont like his style - the tricks he does are good, but as its been stated MANY times before on this, and many other forum pages, he uses stooges and has a team of helpers and consultants to help him - everything is for TV and publicity, not to do with magic. Derren brown has done a VERY similar illusion to this, (as I'm sure many other magicians have - I just cant remember any specific names of them) but the entire presentation is WAY better - he gets physology students (I think) and asks them for a personal item, a few vital statistics and their hand print drawn on A4 paper - then he goes off for an hour, comes back and gives each student a reading, written on paper, in an evelope. He askes them to read them, alone and after each gets interviewed, as suspected, they are all amazed, and rate him very highly. Then, as a killer revelation, he doesnt just say 'i was reading from a newspaper starsigns page - cos I cant memorise a few tiny sentences or show you the card 'you turned over'' - like chris did, he gets them to swap their pages and read the next persons reading - its them who realises whats gone on - he doesnt need to spell it out, and refer to his helpers as vonrable individuals, again, like chris does :-O

Also, (almost at end of rant) I cant belive that Chris says 'because I, like Houdini, blah blah blah' OMG!!! Comparing himself to Houdini, haahahaa (I know not in the magic sence, its in the revelation of theives and scammers, but hey - he thinks he is like him....pah, rubbish)

Why couldn't he just learn the texts? :?

EDIT: Why not just stack the deck and Charlier it instead of adding cards? :?

I suppose some of his acolytes convinced Criss that we and the general pubic weren't aware of such scams or that the very same thing had been publicised many moons ago. Shame really, it could have been good and with all the money and clout behid him, it really should have been better.

Great, I am not the only one that dislike Chris angel... I don't like that kind of magic, it looks really fake. I prefer those magicians like David Stone is more exciting (when he produces bottle of wine s from his handkerchief). I've noticed right now that he will be at Blackpool in February. 80% I'll be there.
