Yes.

I grabbed hold of this quite recently and here are my thoughts on it.

The effect is quite simply that one specttaor acts as the mind-reader and devines the thoughts of other spectators without any collusion or preparation.

This routine is a very well thought out piece of mental magic which delivers a punch in performance. What is wonderful about it is that both spectators are completely oblivious the devious method at work.

The instuctions are very simple and do not go into terrible detail which i enjoyed as it allows the performer to put his own presentation to it. The problem we see a lot in magic is mimickery and people taking the presentations as they are described or demonstrated. Here you are pushed to develop your own presentation.

The piece is for cabaret and stage use in the main. However i would push the envelope somewhat and probably perform it parlour too (oh get me!). It is not really suited to close up, at leats not table or strolling.

If you are good at audience management and dont mind putting a bit of work into something this is really great. Do not get me wrong, you will not pick it up and be doing it right away, it will take some degree of rehearsal to get the nuances and subtleties down. All of which are covered by Mr Pickard in his instructions.

So, not for the hobbiest i wouldnt say...more a professional piece, and not for the walk around performer. That said this is something that modern mindreaders and mentalists should enjoy.

And there is a certain air of Kenton as you read it...

Had been looking for this earlier!!

Cardician wrote:Hi, a few people have asked if there is a video preview of this effect anywhere as there's only really one brief description to go on.

I do have this:

Hope that helps guys! :D
Have a look and let me know!

Ordered it this afternoon. Video doesn't show much of actual routine, but what it does show looks really impressive! Honestly can't see how it can be done! Will be sure to post opinions when it arrives next week!! :)

I have it and I like it!

But, as has been said before, this is merely a stage piece for the professional performer. It requires thorough audience handling and if performed well, it really is a miracle.

Bump

Just got this and I havent had the chance to try it out yet. But I reckon it could be done within a close-up setting. Maybe a wink here and nod may let you get away with this.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

I have had this for some time now and having used it extensively I can confirm that it works a treat close-up as well as in cabaret with minimal changes to presentation.

This is a terrific piece of mentalism but it does require a degree of audience management to put it over effectively so give some (a lot of) thought into your presentation and you will have a winner.

I think the reason people are put of doing this close-up is the way the trick works. Thoses who own it will understand. It looks good I am working on the presentation at the moment.

My main worry is some one not understand the bit they need to.
