I imagine it's a clever camera edit coupled with a cups and balls type load. I'm sure I've seen how to do it with a miniature can - the ones you can pick up next to the pick n mix at Woolworths. It was either in one of Paul Harris' Art of Astonishment series or somewhere like allmagic.com.

There is an effect in one of the Art of Astonishment series by Paul Harris as you say Zack. I think it is called 'Rock' or 'Earth' and is a large rock to shoe effect. As far as I'm aware dynamo uses this method to achieve the 'can to shoe'.

I think that Zack is spot on with it being a chop cup type load

Lennart Green has a funny bottle to shoe load. It is almost as funny as when he pull a shoe out of a deck of cards!! And Bill Malone does lemon to shoe as part of his bill to lemon effect. None of these loads are anything special since they (like the final load in cups and ball) are done on the offbeat, as a joke in a context without “test conditions”. In short in a situation where you can getting away with anything.

Magic is slight of mind!

I loved the trick when I saw it, I know the method he uses to pull the can out of his shoe, but his vanish seems so clean, I guess great sleight of hand.

Cheers,

Nick
