I have no idea why.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

I do it because I love to see the reaction from the audience but also partly because I get a bit of a rush from performing. It feels like I'm 'getting away with something' when I do something so blatant that I feel like I MUST be caught out by someone. Is that weird? Maybe I should just switch to shoplifting, it probably takes a lot less practice for the same rush (I would imagine!)

not weird at all. and why you dont shoplift? because it's illegal. Seems pretty simple.

...i do it cos it helps heal the ever open wounds of my damaged psyche...and makes up for alot of deep rooted psychological problems...

it's FUN! it takes both yourself, and the people there on a very strong and emotive journey for that time..away from the worries of work, family and any other kind of pressure or stress...

first off, I don't care for the reactions much at all. I like how differently they view me after I do what they deem "Impossibe". another reason I practice magic is because I've always been fascinated with it, as have so many of us, but recently I developed manic deppresion and getting my heart broken by the girl of my dreams sure didn't help. I've never been in a relationship before and I'm thinking I never will
so now Illusions have become my life. I can't really explain it but somehow the Illusions help me when nothing else does, The art is all I care about anymore, its my only reason for living but what a great thing to live for.

For me it's 60% because I love it and always have, 39.9% for the reactions and 0.1% because it's an easy way to talk to girls. :D

James, 19, Lifelong student of magic and will carry on learning for the rest of my days if I'm a very lucky boy.

I do it because i can, Iv put effort into learning all my effects.
I do like poeple to wa\tch me, and i like to be able to do somthing that makes me stand out.
But i do it because i can, because i know how to, and not many people can do the art, that we can, properly.
there are too many 'kiddy' magicians about now-a-days that thionk they can perform magic, because they've got a Svengali deck. NO!
I have a mate like it, ill be in the club and show a trick to the bar lady (try and win some dirnks, u know!) and my m8 will take the cards, perform somthing that was the most Rediculous looking thing, that is no way baffling, and call himself a magician, well to be honist i dis-agree.!
He, was a little drunk at the time, but his methods, patter (which was non-existant!) was Uselss.
And it makes me anrgy, because some people say to him 'Wow - you're really good!' and that then turns me, and makes me very angry.
Not that i have a short fuse!

Well, thats my rant over, but i just like to perform, becus i know how to perform. and poeple enjoy it.!

:-)
