Name: Dough
Price: £11.99
Type: Pen through note
Difficulty: 2/5
Examinable: Completely before and after the trick
Performance: 1-2 mins
Reset: instant
What you get: some post it notes, instructions including 10 illustrations
Effect: A post it note is stuck to the centre of a borrowed note. A pencil/ pen/ knitting needle is then slowly pushed through the note, but when the note is removed, it is completely unharmed whilst the post it has a great big hole in it.
Comments: This is a very clever effect which has a very inpromptu feel to it, the instructions are clear and the illustrations give a good representaiotn of the overall effect. Like many of the most devastating effects the principle is fiendishly simple and my first reaction was of course why didn't i think of that. The post it notes that are included are in my opinion too small to present the effect as shown in the diagrams. I therefore had to trudge round to get a block of post it notes slightly larger than the ones supplied. A minor gripe but for £12 i would expect that the only supplied prop would be of the correct size.
I would anticipate that this trick will end up in one of Jays books or videos and and it would probably feel a better purchase if you could see it actually performed as it is a good effect. Many close up performers will see the potential of this effect and will see it as good value, whilst i think anyone relatively new to magic may feel disapointed at the actual pack contents
overall rating 7/10 (points lost for quality of prop)
