Yes, we know exactly what you mean, so please edit the exposure out of your post. All you needed to ask for was a card to wallet effect with no palming.
I recommend the Jerry O'Connell Plus Wallet, but it is a jacket-sized wallet, not a hip-pocket/billfold. I'm sure the subject's come up fairly recently and the view was that there aren't any no-palm billfold wallets around.
Just a thought.....work on cleaning up your palm and save a little on the wallet. The effect will be the same and will cost you less, all the while learning a utility move that will come in handy in various situations.
As for the palm....I find people are too worried about perfection....remember misdirection can go a long way. I have seen some great magicians that have awful palms but the only one that would catch them would be another magi as they are preppared and triggered by the move.
I'm happy with my Jerry O'Connell Billfold Wallet, I wasn't too confident like yourself, but you'd be surprised if you time it right.
If you're to comfortable with the process try learning some other effects that use the same/similar technique, there's some in RRTCM that aren't too difficult, to get your performance and confidence up to doing a card to wallet.
How about Mark Mason's Mirage Wallet reviewed here for £25
It requires no need for the card to be p***ed .
QUESTION: If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??
I second the Jerry O Connell plus wallet - loads of stuff you can use it for and it has a no palm feature.
It comes with a free ID case and the large version comes with a utility device for predictions etc. I like the effect of signed business card (With a personalised message on the back) to ID case - excellent reaction the last time I did it.
I second the work on the palm theory. Its amazing how many magicians needlessly worry about the palm. Its funny how this is the second reference to Sylvester the Jester. But in his Sylvester pitch he can switch out a coin for a hammer and nobody is the wiser. While there is no palm involved the theory is the same a little natural misdirection and you are going to be fine.
magicj,
Save your money AND your time practicing your palm.
My "Anytime Card to Wallet" doesn't use a fancy, high-priced wallet OR a knuckle=busting palm.
And, best of all, it's FREE; just e-mail me and I'll send you my column as it appeared in the magazine, The Linking Ring.
