For a gift I received a Logitech Quickcam Fusion. At the time this was £90 with a free headset. Maybe the price has dropped now, but it is a brilliant high-res camera with autolighting and auto-sound adjusting that self tunes under different conditions (e.g. natural light or glare). This camera is brilliant for making videos and pictures, you can record in the size you described or bigger. That is my opinion. Whatever you eventually get, I would think it should be a Logitech.
