credit card sleights

Postby Bounty » Nov 12th, '07, 22:22

Hi, allthough this partially falls within the realm of card tricks, I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of any credit card sleights or magicians who perform them? I can do a vanish and a spin, as they are simple card tricks, but I want to build some routines. Pages such as www.pokerchiptricks.com would be great ;)

Micheal Ammar has a nice bit with a credit card, He borrows a card snaps off the corner and restores it.
There is another one where you borrow the credit card and create a whole new identity for yourself, but that is not recomended.

alot of items, like credit cards, train ticket and so on, all are roughly the same size as poker playing cards...just apply the same thinking to them...forget what they are really, just try out some normal moves with them...

i keep my tube tickets, with two standard card sleights, people can sign one, and they instantly time travel...

I have done a theme on "identity and credit card theft" and have went on to borrow an item like a driver's license or credit card, vanish it and move it to my "card to wallet" and then talk about how steeling identity and credit card information is that easy.....fun and kind of fits the general awareness of the credit card/identy theft issues that face us today

I guess it would be interesting if you could take a credit card and rub on the card number, and the word "VOID" would appear and it looks and feels real. Then just another rub or blow, the word disappears.

*Starts thinking of method*

There's one effect where you rip off the magnetic strip from a borrowed card, much to the horror of the card owner - can't remember much more about it than that.

Penn and Teller have a "trick" where you render your credit card useless leaving your "audience" to pay for the meal!

Theres a sankey one where you snap a borrowed card in half and restore it which i've had good results with (its one of the older ones, sankey 1999 or maybe the one with the baby on the front).

Also, a nice effect a mate did at the bar was as he was ordering drinks, he asked if they accepted cards. She said yes and then realised he had a deck of bikes in his hand. He asked if she took this one? No. That card put to bottom of the pack...how about this one? No again. This one then? Again no, getting a bit tired of the joke. Then after one of the best passes I know of, the credit card was on top....ok, this one?
Eyes on stalks lol

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh
