Here's me performing some magic on the streets. Enjoy.

Well done Josh. You looked good, and judging by the great audience reactions you went down well as well. It was fun watching (albeit an overly long trailer as you walk up the street in the beginning)

I love how immediately the audience start to exaggerate what you did. "He levitated 6 inches off the ground!" - I wonder high high they will be telling everyone once they get home.

It was good seeing some real world magic be performed.

I really enjoyed watching your video clip. I loved the reactions as was said above i bet you were flying 3 feet high by the time it's been told a few times

The intro was a killer, bit much, bit long but i soon forgot about it once the magic started. Also i wouldn't use the graveyard bit, what looked like standing on a few graves and making fun of the head stone could be considered a bit bad taste. The rest was all strong enough to stand alone.

I have a busy day organising stuff now and i can't stop thinking about magic after watching that, wonder what I'm going to forget to do because of magic today

Thanks for the kind words. I should've specified this is a work in progress. The LONG beginning will be edited and have a title and credits eventually. There will also be more filming soon. This is for a local television station to air. I have an hour slot, so I'd imagine 45 minutes will suffice as there will also be commercials.

As for the graveyard, I understand how it could be perceived as being in bad taste. I even say, "I think people are going to hate this" in the video. I personally DO believe in ghosts, but I would never "prove" my beliefs with magic. I, on the other hand, don't believe there is any spiritual connection to a body in a box six feet under an engraved piece of rock. The graveyard scene was more for magicians as a joke. Magicians know it's not real. I'll probably cut that scene for the final cut. I don't want laymen thinking some ghost was pulling a card out of the middle of the pack.

Again, thanks for commenting and I'd like to hear what more of you have to say.

Very nicely done.

Just a small note but the masked magician exposed some of those tricks (levitation, kings to aces), so you'd might wanna consider just how much of your material is devoted to them.

Personally, I'd leave the graveyard bit in so long as it's tasteful - and stick in a disclaimer that says "no spirits were harmed during filming" as a laugh. If you're audience believes, even for a minute that ghosts like to hang around getting in on card tricks then there's something seriously wrong.

On a note to do with reaching the audience using the surroundings, here's the video that rekindled my interest in magic.

Before watching this I hated Derren Brown, and now I can't get enough as now I can really appreciate what he's trying to do. This is an utterly brilliant example of audience control, and it still sends shivers down my spine. As Derren rightly states at the end - it's "Out Of This World"! :D

I understand the concern of the tricks having been exposed by the Masked Magician, but obviously my audience missed that episode. I've actually never heard a laymen mention or even know who the Masked Magician is. A few of my friends that watched it thought the methods shown were not the real ones.

Someone might believe the spirits did come out to play with cards. People fall for that stuff all the time. A lady wearing crystals, talking to your dead loved ones is a million dollar industry.

Good work josh,
It was a bit repetitive and the intro was long but as you state its a work in progress so im confident the final product will look very good.

I have an easy coin in mouth trick that you could easily add in your routine, message me if you want to know the details. Im not aware of any copyright on this trick as i found it myself but im persuade its a well known trick so i will be willing to share it.

Keep up the good work we will be waiting for the next video.

Good shizzle mate, so much better to see this than someone in front of a webcam.

The two card monte was nice and it's great to prove that despite the fact that you did several tricks that Blaine did and that have since been 'exposed' they're classic material that still kills. Personally I'd have liked to have seen more non card-stuff but that's just me, the reactions you got were exactly what good magic produces, pure astonishment.

Hi Josh,

I also enjoyed watching your video. You are definately a skilled, watchable magician and as has been mentioned it is always nice to see members of this forum in real world performances. I especially enjoyed the effect with the moving pips (not sure of the name), that looked great.

From a critical point of view, if it's for a TV slot, then surely you don't want to perform an effect more than once. Surely it's better to film a few runs of it and choose the one you like best based on performance and reactions.

Also, you seem to be (mostly) performing tricks done by David Blaine in his Tv specials, maybe it would be an idea to try and lesser-seen stuff.

Another thing is your DLs (and the get-readys), they look a little 'stiff' for want of a better word, they need a little work to get them looking more effortless.

Just my thoughts, good luck with the TV show.

Well done mate, looked good. Did you make everyone in your video fill out a release form? if not you wont be able to use it on TV.

That's Distortion by Wayne Houchin.
Thanks for the advice. I think the final video will be amazing with all these great suggestions and critiques I'm getting.

Sorry I'm not that good as a mentalist. I didn't think to ask her as I'm 24 and that would be quite inappropriate.

I have video of each spectator saying I can use them in the video. Do you think I need actual paperwork?
