You mean where you make a napkin rose? Then use IT to float it? Then, via the use of some method or other, burn the napkin (which would, of course, be flash paper at this point) and you're left holding a real rose?
Well, first off, this is more akin to stage magic than close up. Attempted in a close up environment would require that you have a real rose hidden on your person somewhere (oftentimes doing damage to the rose while it is hidden), so you'd almost be required to wear a jacket. Further, you'll need an IT hook up...Possibly not the best thing in a close up environment.
But, all of that aside....
Why would you want to do this? Oh, I know, it's impressive and magical. Then again, you are using magic to destroy a small piece of art.
I stand firmly with Simon Lovell on this subject. Why would you destroy something that you just made with your hands, something that most people cannot do, something that
really is artistic?
If, in the course of talking with your date you pick up a napkin and fold a rose (no long speeches, not as some kind of show piece, just pick up a napkin and fold it into a rose whilst having a conversation) and hand it to her, then you've taken a mundane object and turned it into a small work of art. And, you've given it to her as a present. Why would you want to destroy that?
Anyway, as is being stated above, do not use magic to hide behind or think that doing a magic trick will win anyone's love or appreciation - it's not the magic, it's the performer.
