The Universe conspires to help...

Postby infrared » Nov 14th, '07, 13:12

The story so far...

As you can see from my previous posts, moving to Edinburgh, interested in practice routines etc etc. Seige recommended Mark Wilson's Course and others have also given useful advice.

Picture if you will a leisurely Sunday afternoon stroll around the Botanical Gardens, hand in hand with fiancee (who's just been made redundant as her office is closing, so she's not feeling too happy). Anyway, stopped via the paper shop in Canonmills and passing a second hand book shop (or 'store' for our friends across the water), my eye is drawn to the word 'SEX' on a book in the window, an erotic review from the previous century. We laugh and she says something like 'you're always thinking about it aren't you'. I'm about to reply 'when you're around, it's hard not to' when lo, as if, as in the title of the post, the universe is conspiring to help me, as I inspect the rest of the window display to discover, at the end of the shelf, there is a copy of Mark Wilson's Complete Magic Course, in very good condition, for a very reasonable amount of cash!

It's either incredibly co-incidental, or Seige is just that good! I couldn't resist and now I've just got to convince my cynical aspirant wife that it would be a GOOD thing for her to appear out of a box built on stage.

Brilliant!

A wortrhy purchase and if you got it for a cheap cost then you have you money's worth more than you can imagine. As a magic beginners course there is so much in there to explore and you'll have fun doing so.

LOL, nice one greedoniz  . I half expect to walk past the same shop and it has totally gone, locals saying that there hasn't been anything there for years. Either that or the next time I'm passing there'll be a first edition Erdnase. Now that would be cool!

There is a shop in Yarmouth that people are spose to see and then go back the next day its gone. Then again in that part of world the locals are funny.

Marks book is good more magic then you shake a stick at.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

I got my hardback copy from Smith's for about £8 I think. It was on the bargain table, of all places. Snapped that one up pretty quick, I can tell you. :D

Even funnier! Nice one, my friend. I guess I thought that all the practice that I've done over the years on my own meant that my skills in that department could be described as 'expert'. Mind you, I certainly wouldn't have used a video camera!
