Favourite openers??

Postby TheAlkhemist07 » Nov 14th, '07, 17:17

I was just curious as to what your favourite openers were. Personally I really like 2 for me it has to be either Revover by oz pearlman or a trick commonly known as "The greatset card trick in the world" (it isnt but thats another story!) I really like them because they grab the audience attention and are relatively fast-paced.
Anyways share away amigos and it doesnae hav to be a card trick!
Please no exposure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, that was a laugh. may i ask where you learnt this "greatest card trick in the world"? I think I know which one you're refering to and am somewhat curious to know why you don't know it's proper name. (it seems to me it implies you've learnt it by some questionably means, but if I'm wrong then i apologise now)

if it's cards I often use Double Thought Projection to get a spec to pick their card, it's a great trick and a very fair way for a card to be chosen.

Coins, it's usually a coing production from a couple of playing cards, quite fun to have the specs thinking you're going to do a card trick only to produce a coin and go into a coin routine.

Sponge balls or cups and balls and the balls are usually produced from my 'invisible' purse.

I've got lots really, all depends on what routine I'm doing.

Crazy Man's Handcuffs or Red Hot Mama. Where possible I like to produce anything I then go on to use, a nice casual production goes a long way to getting them on your side.

For cards I do some ace-cutting that involves the specs. For coins, I'll pluck them from the air. Simple yet effective.....

Me exactly! I like something fast, fun, interactive, visual, and mindless as an opener....depending on the venue and/or routine in place for the night it may be:

Cup and balls...stand up or table roaming
Linking rings...great standup roaming opener
Foam balls...stand up or table roaming
Magic colouring book...great opener for kids shows!

If it is cards....and it rarely is cards as a "true opener" then likely an ACR

Its the frst part of Dan Fleshmans routine Momma in my wallet and its not really that hard to work it out once youve read Chapters 11 and 15 of the RRTCM.

I do a quick raven coin vanish as an 'in' to get the audience attention and then go on to Nyman's 'Diceman' usually

When I'm using cards, I open with my own Kabuki Queens routine.

Right now, I like to open with either my variation of Koran's medallion, or my own version of Killer Elite.
