Budding new magician here!

Postby MagicIan29 » Nov 12th, '07, 22:28

Hi there.
I'm 16 years old, but only started doing magic about 8 months ago and therefore my skills are limited, although I like to think my progress is coming on quite well. I started doing magic after my family was reunited with an old school friend (namely bananafish the moderator), and with a 'little help from my friends' I've gradually built up some tricks, books etc.

I started on sponge ball magic, and learnt the basic sleights and retentions and palming. Recently I've moved onto cards, including 'The Enchanted Card' and other intermediate tricks. I hope to move onto coins soon so as to ensure I have a little bit of everything so I can put some routines together for family and friends.

I know I started a little late but I hope that with a lot of years still ahead (touch wood) to practise I could be at least a part-time magician, although I don't want to get too big for my boots!

Hi Ian

Glad to see you found us. There's a wealth of information here. Just be careful of the reviews though as they make you want to buy everything :)

all the best

Maybe not too old then Tenko

And another magician in Tunbridge Wells, Lady of Mystery? Do you know of any places nearby that stock magic 'stuff' or are you an internet buyer?

And finally thanks for the warm welcome - slightly more friendly than on previous messageboads I've visited!
