Which Hand?

Postby MickyScouse » Nov 21st, '07, 16:22

I've forgotten where I read this but apparantly if someone places a coin in 1 of their hands behind their back, brings both hands infront of themselves and then thinks about which hand the coin is in then their n*** (don't want to reveal the secret) will actually point to that hand!

I tried this on my girlfriend last night and seeing as she was looking straight at me while thinking, her n*** didn't point to either hand.

Does this actually work??

Yeap it works. Derren Brown him self done it. Ok its not 100% sure fire but if you get the first one wrong that usually gives you a clue on to what to look for. I ve used a couple of times my self I dont always use it but as a quick impromtu peace it can be very strong if you get 3 or 4 times in a row.

Go seek self working mental magic.

It does work, can be hard to spot exactly where the nose is pointing at times but it does work. One little tip, look at the eyes, you'll see them slightly off centre, this'll give you a clue to where the nose is pointing.

Funnily enough, this nose-pointing tip is in Mark Lemezma's 'How To Be A Mind Magician'.
It works about eight times out of ten for me. There is a good routine using this kind of effect on Reel Magic Volume 2. I can't remember the name of the fellow doing it, but he's from some American sitcom or other.

Anyhow, the routine he does is very good.

Jason Alexander! That's him!

I was impressed by him as after hearing what he was known for wasn't expecting too much.

Alexander's set was outstanding. One of the most pleasant surprises at the Magic Castle last year.

Having said that, I'm prettttttty sure he wasn't relying on the nose for that particularly routine...

I broke my nose when I was younger so it bends ever so slightly to the right. I'd be a magicians nightmare at this trick lol
