Yup the trick to the morrisey chop cups is to put one edge down first. I tend to hold the cup so the open end is slightly pointed towards me. Then when the cup hits the table the rim closest to the spectator naturaly hits the table first. I believe magic is not about speed or force, but like a good game of billiards its a thing of finesse. Also if you are using a mini chop cup, if you place the cup down with too much force the ball hits the table and bounces back up and uhm, that is not a good thing. If you all get my drift.
