Ok fellow magic people I am in need of advice. In a few weeks time I am up for promotion and have to present infront of a board of senior managers my explanations, reasons and thoughts as to why I am the man for the job. Anyway getting to the point, I am going to finish off the presentation leaving them with a lasting impression of some kind of mentalism effect. This cant be too long of an effect, perhaps two minutes max. At the moment I am thinking thought transmitter for its sheer effectiveness and quickness. Has anyone got any words of wisdom or perhaps do you think I should not take the opportunity to mystify and just concentrate on the main reason I am there ?

If I were in your shoes, I'd need the routine chosen to be absolutely foolproof so that you are not worried or stressed about the routine at the end and taking away your concentration from the main body of the event.
I think I'd be too chicken to introduce a routine! What if it went wrong??
But please let us know what you decide!

Based on the limited information you have given I would absolutly leave them with some sort of an effect. You want them to remember your name. Is it possible to relate the effect to the position being applied for? That would be even better.

My advice would be DO NOT DO ANY MENTALISM, MAGIC OR TRICKERY at job interviews!

If it doesn't work then for the sake of a trick you will have blown the WHOLE interview. You may also get someone on the board who isn't into that sort of thing and it could have the reverse effect.

If you're good at the job that they are recruiting you for then let your professional achievements to the talking and it's that which they will remember your name for.

If they ask you about your hobbies, life outside of work etc. then sure, tell them a little bit about what you do but just talk.
