International Magic Convention 23.-25. November 2007

Postby gunnarkr » Sep 8th, '07, 16:39

I just signed up for the weekend in Shaw Theatre in London, along with Jonni, also from Iceland. Anybody else from here going to be there?

Hi, I can't make that one, but they are normally very good.

It's a shame as I would love to see you and Jonni again.

I suppose there is no way you could pop over for the Ipswich Convention on Sunday 21st October? (Juliana Chen, Graham P. Jolley, Chris Power, Matthew J. Dowden, Michael J. Fitch, Crisco etc), Otherwise I daresay I will see you guys at Blackpool again next year?

ps. did you ever sort anything out with Greg Wilson?

Hey, By a strange coincidence, I had booked a weekend away in London only to find a coupld of weeks later that the dates coincide perfectly with the Convention.

Unfortunately, we have already booked tickets to go see shows etc. but we will be able to make it on the Sunday.

I look forward to seeing quite a few people there. So who is going? Other than the above?

All the best,

Advicw for newbie attending Convention

Postby jnote » Oct 26th, '07, 19:00

Hello all,
Just wanted your thoughts on attendance at this years international magic convention. I am a beginner, and therefore am thinking that I would only attend a single day as it might not be worth shelling out the full amount at this point in my learning!
What day would you guys recommend? Im thinking Sunday as it includes the dealers, though the close up competition would be nice to see on saturday. Any other tips or hints on my first convention? Just to let you know about how much of a novice I am: I am currently in the first few chapters of Giobbi's first volume of Card college and have only read the first few pages of Bobo's book! My classic pass is impeccable though!
Cheers

I would say that a convention isn't just about learning it's also about meeting people with the same interest, it's about enjoying watching magic, and embracing it.

Seriously conventions are great fun. Don't be put of by the fact that you are at the beginning of the road.

I'll be there.....my favourite convention of the year, mainly because I can drag myself home afterwards at night and still make it back for the following day...Although the modern dance, contortion act at the gala sends a shiver down my spine Eugghh.

Just to remind people it's all less than a week away.

Darwin Ortiz, Al Schneider, Guy Hollingworth, Dynamo, Juan Ordeix (FISM Mentalism winner) and many many others

The Saturday Gala is now sold out and a very few tickets remain for the Sunday.

Day registrations are still available and a Dealers Hall ticket only also available.

Details on the International Magic website

International Magic Convention

Postby ColinR » Nov 20th, '07, 16:53

Hi

Does anyone know if tickets will be available on the door or is the only way to get them over the internet?
I know the gala is sold out but I might be interested in the day events.
