Royal Road is a fantastic book. Not only will it give you all the sleights and shuffles you need, the actual effects, as Mark Lewis will undoubtably agree, are excellent and will serve you well for years.

Even the earlier effects in the book are ones that slay the layman and get a great response. You'd think that a with the book being so widely studied that people would have seen them all before, but effects such as the easy to perform Do As I Do are a winner every time.

Bear in mind that RRTCM is an old book written in old style and needs some effort to work through - that effort will be worth it.

The 5 DVD set, if you can afford it, is a good companion. Not on it's own but used in conjunction with the book. With the two combined you'll rapidly understand the worthwhile knowledge between those covers.
