Everyone knows that sponge balls compress into tiny spaces but when one becomes two, three or more, or change into a much larger ball, other shape, and/or changes colour that's when the magic hits!

Shape and colour changes are pretty impressive to a spec too and complete vanishes of three balls leaves a few mouths agape!

I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything for another year! I promised! And then here comes Lord Freddie giving something a 10/10.
Is CUPS permanent? If not, what drug should I use?

Hi Freddie, 8)
I do basic short routines with sponge balls, is this kit going to give me enough extra material to warrant the price tag? In your opinion of course. Thanks for the review

For the price it's a total bargain. As someone else pointed out, if you bought all this studd individually, it would be double the cost.
The DVD has some tips and handlings that you may not know and are good ones and the performances are a pleasure to watch. It's long too. 2hrs.
If you are into, or interested in, sponge ball magic, you really can't go wrong with this set. The balls are good quality GOSH ones too!

Glad you liked it, Lord Freddie. I always get a bit nervous about recommending particualr items, as everyone's different. You just have to look at the different views on the Thought Transmitter.

In fact, you've reminded me of the one negative to the Toolbox.

The DVD has so much on it, it's hard to know what to do!

:D Thanks for recommending it. Great buy! Recommendations from good folks like yourself and Markdini and ones worth listening too. Though I don't think he's convinced me about Looch's book (well, not until I have £300 spare for a Midas!!!).

It is indeed a good buy and one I have pondered over for a few months. I was stupidly thinking for such a low price it may not be as good as it seems, but it is one the best magical bargains out there. You get more than your moneys worth!

Well, I ordered mine on Wednesday and received it fromWizmo Magic on Friday. Excellent service and in my opinion great value for money. I can't add anything to the review which is spot on but just wanted to say that this has opened up a whole new area of magic for me and I am pretty excited by the possibilities.

Now as I sit down to watch TV at night I not only have a pack of crads to hand, I have to have my sponge balls there too!

What I really like about sponge magic is that its not rocket science, its not flash gimmicks, but it does provide some startling effects from basic skills.

I now have a lengthy apprenticeship to serve to learn how to progress the basic moves in to a performance but i will enjoy getting there.

Good luck. It's actually easier than it looks and does impress the layman.
There are some excellent routines on the DVD including one taught by Al Goshman himself. Steve Dacri is a good teacher and on the right side of cheesy. The routines may seem simple when you watch them but you'll be suprised how convincing the vanishes are when you actually get out there and do them.

My tooolbox arrived and i've enjoyed the first part of the dvd. Can someone explain the vanishing gimick as its use is not obvious to me and i haven't come across it in the dvd yet.

thanks

Surely you can just hit fast forward on the DVD?

I've not got the toolbox but I can only assume its the s****a or TT

This is one of the other things I have on my order list winging its way to me. Best price I've seen is Wizmo Magic at £14.50 or similar

It's quite later on in the DVD, basically it's a big TT and you need a pencil or wand that fits in the ridge. If you skip the chapters as you're playing it you'll get to the section. It's quite near the end of it.

Sponge balls

Postby Al Doty » Dec 17th, '07, 08:30

Lord Freddie, great review and I'm sure you have inticed many to go for it. I love doing the sponge balls and have many different sizes and colours. "This trick is not just for kids.", said the silly rabbit.
