Dare I assume you bought it from Ellusionist? I think I will, and I think I'm right.
Stigmata is one of the main reason why a lot of people have no respect for Ellusionist, certainly people who've bought a Banachek DVD or 2.

While I havn't bought Stigmata from E as a 1 trick DVD I am fully aware of how it's done (I must be some kind of magic exposure pirate type), go on... what's the problem?

As a side question, does anyone actually use Stigmata at all? I don't think I've actually seen it performed outside of a demo/DVD/youboob-1-off video.

Custom R&S decks made to specification - PM me for details

I learned it from Banachek (well, his DVD - not him personally). He's shown using it in front of an audience, so, yes, it does get used.

I tried it a couple of times with different methods, but no real good results, so never actually showed it to anyone.

I feel Mr Turner's hit a nail on it's rather obvious head... in two ways...

First... You probably WON'T see a pro using Stigmata.

Second... You probably WOULD HAVE been more likely to see it done properly before Houchin released it as a 'Street magic' thang.

Out of all the 'most pirated' stuff I can think of, I recon Stigmata is pretty close to the top of the list. I would doubt whether you'd get any credibility for doing this now... as every schoolkid and his gerbil know how it works.

A great, great shame.

As Harry Enfield would say...

"Oi! YouTube... NO! Although I respect that Christian and Houchin, with Blaine and Garcia to name but a few, have graced our world with the rebirth of hip and trendy modern magic, please don't come around our computer screens with your poncy fancy video player, giving us readily accessible and quite inane depictions of brainless prepubescents performing particularly pointless renditions of commercially available professional magic effects in a fashion which is frankly quite distressing, and is a typical product of the world we live in.

So, take your opinions, your videos, AND your low quality, budget priced and iffy webcams and sling yer hook."

I dont use stigmata but i do use a similar trick to reveal a card using the ash of the chosen card. Its a pretty old concept you wipe some ash on your arm and the card name appear in black.

As for stigmata it just does not appear clearly enuff on my arms so i prefer when everyone can clearly see it even from far. Sometimes i may happen to use it for an impromptu close up but thats about it.

wierdly though, banachek is actually on the houchin dvd chatting away to him about it all...so for once, its not an uncredited thing...

yes! i own 2 ellusionist dvds! this and mindbender....oh and i think someone bought one of those ninja dvds trying to be kind...bless 'em...

anyway - what struck me as very wierd, was one of the acidus peeks being shown too, again - will permission...its a strange dvd...

oh, and i have used it, but only very rarely - during a discussion of victorian seances, and how spirits could scratch and bite the people at the seances, welts would appear along the neck and arms...

but no, i wouldnt stop someone in the street and say "Oooh lookie here.."

By the way armyperson, didn't you post your stigmata performance here for us some time ago? I'm just wondering why you might need help if you've performed it before.
Not trying to be sarcastic incidentaly, just an honest question.
