Magic Trick - Corner Cut

Postby Palfince » Dec 2nd, '07, 13:24

This is my first post on this forum and it is about my first proper magic trick I have made. It is called 'Corner Cut' and is quite a simple trick which alot of people on this forum can probably see how it is done LOL.

How it works:

A card is selected by the spectator and then returned to the deck and shuffled in. A tic tac box is then produced and the deck of cards is slamed against the box. The corner of one card is in the tic tac box. That one card is the spectators.

This is the link to my trick: Sorry Video Removed

I'm still not sure if anyone has done anything similar and if so please tell me.

Post and say if you think the trick is good or not.

Its ok.

Try having a dupe card ('4D' in this case) which the spec can take out and see a whole card.

Then control it to the top card when shuffling (so when you spread the cards there won't be two 4D) and then have the cut 4D somewhere in the middle.

Also try using/learn the classic force, it looks a tad less suspect.

Anyway good first attempt.

Palfince,

Why did you take an obviously used deck of cards from its case and remove 2 jokers from the top ?? What did that do for the trick ??

As for the trick, why have a cut corner appearing in a tic tac box ? It doesn't make sense. Why not take their chosen card (4D) and pretend to snip off the corner with your fingers, then replace it in the deck and then go on to produce the snipped off corner and the card missing the said corner.

the effect itself isnt bad, could use a little more presentational skills and you could cut off some of the card, give them a corner and then have the card reappear in the tic tac box with the corner missing etc... but not bad... :)

bah humbug...

Did anyone else think that looked a touch like a camera cut?
other than that it's alright, could do it with a signed card though, might make it a little nicer, if that's your kind of thing

Not bad. I would like to see a signed version as well.

Why do all youtube magic videos have such awful angsty rock music as a soundtrack? It gives us magicians a bad rep....
