Hatton or Maywether?

Postby cymru1991 » Dec 8th, '07, 19:23

As I'm sure most of you know, tonight is a huge night for British boxing. If Hatton Wins, he is in pole position for a hall of fame position, If he loses, then it'll be a huge setback. With rumors of his retirement looming, will this be Hatton's last big fight? As of 9 pm tonight (Amir Khan is on too!!) I will be settling down for a boxing grandslam, culminating in what some are billing as one of the biggest fights of all time. My question is:
A) Will you be watching it, and if so where
and
B) Who do you fancy? Hatton or Maywether.

I know who my money's on-COME ON RICKY!!

I'm afraid I know who neither of these people are.

Which do I fancy? Well neither of them. Even if they are female boxers, because female boxers are always munters.

20,000 Brits have flocked here to Las Vegas to see the fight and cheer on Hatton. Most have wound up at the hippest English Pub in Vegas...The Crown and Anchor. Man, let the good pints roll!!

At the end of the day the best man won... in the circumstances.

I'm not trying to sound bitter here, But WHAT THE HELL was referee Cortez doing in the opening 3 rounds? Every time Hatton was getting inside, he broke the fight up straight away, so Hatton wasn't getting the chance to throw body shots. By the 4th round Hatton had used a lot of energy, and then Cortez decides to let the fight flow a little, but now Hatton looks slower and its getting easier for Maywether. And one more thing, why was Hatton deducted a point? The punch didn't land! Maywether should have been deducted a point for putting his head down and constantly tying up.

Anyway, I'm glad that's off my chest. Maywether showed some REAL class in the fight, but I've got a niggling feeling that if Cortez had let it flow earlier, we might have been looking at a different outcome...

Oh well... what's done is done now...
