Buisness Cards

Postby GoldFish » Jun 5th, '04, 17:33

I'm just reordering some buisness cards but this time i've decided to make them a little more special and customized so I'd like to add a logo or picture to them. Has anybody got any small images that would fit the idea?

Cheers

Fish

Tip one: Search Google Images.
Tip two: Have you tried "Avery Quick and Clean" Buissness card paper? It is very good (get it from office world, staples, or similar) and comes with software to design your card. Easy to do, fairly cheap, no perferations, and the cards dont bend.

Tip three: Look back here, i might post again in a minute! :D

Cheers for that guys but I'm really looking simplyt for images or logo type things to put on my cards.

I've already got quite an established account with a printing firm so I'm sorted in that respect, I just need domething to put on the cards!

what sort of image are you looking for? I assume magic related, so would this be a fan of cards? a top hat with a bunny coming out? a wand? a magician?

What sort of magic do you wish to promote, ie are you more of a mentalist? a childrens magician? closeup? illusionist?

do you want a goldfish incorporated there somehow?

I'm generally a close up magician with a bit of mentalism thrown in for fun. If you can find an image depicting that, I'd be impressed!!

No, goldfish thanks, thats just an internet thing.

How about a picture of a phrenology head?

While bump reading has little to do with mentalism, the image of a head divided into different areas seems to strike a chord with mentalists.

Failing that, how about a brain, a man deep in concentration, "the Thinker" by Rodin, a crystal ball, a key (possibly bent, or one straight, one bent) or a cartoon style thought bubble with your initials in it?

a pic of a head with a thought buble above it of a key, unlocking the secrets of the mind kind of thing and if you show them the haunted key, they'l thinking about it all day and when reminded by the picture on you r bussiness card :P

Good idea, that. I had in mind some kind of key bending routine (cutlery isn't as interesting as keys) and I was also thinking of unlocking the mind.

If you use a CT to do some mind reading, the crystal ball design can be used instead of just drawing a circle. Magicdiscoman's right; if you do an effect which you can link to your business card, it could form a very strong mental link.

If you have cards done with blank thought bubbles or crystal balls in the right place, you might be able to use them to write predictions or for spectators to write in (for example, if you use a Stealth Wallet or something similar).

The phrenology head or the "Thinker" image is classier, but perhaps less useful, although I am sure you can work them into routines in some way, even if it's just some kind of force.

if your printing your own cards then why not incorporate a ginnie gimick on the back then you could have a stack secured by a rubber band showing a ginie with a thought bubble saying i predict your card will be with a space for them to sign it, slide out there signed card with your details on the top and have them place there hand ontop of it.

have a card selected from your trust deck and memorised, try to find the card without success then have the gennie predict the chosen card.
i had thease printed on my bussiness cards back in the old days and you get a lot of bookings froma keepsake that has there signed name on it and there chosen card mysteriously printed in the though bubble and of course your details on the front.

actualy i had two sets one for cards and one for a set of dice the magic number is 14 if you catch my drift.

Thanks for the idea but Ive already got a good buissness-card-keepsake-routine that I like and the whole geni idea doesn't really fit in with my style. I see where you're going though. Thanks.

Yea its a good style to play with to because you can really affect somebody with a well presented piece of mentalism but also you don't have to take it to seriously if you don't want to.
