New Years Resolutions

Postby Carl Buck » Dec 12th, '07, 12:19

It's getting to that time of year again when you make promises to yourself that you never keep! So what are everyone's resolutions for next year then?

On a personal level mine is to chill out a bit and take things a bit easier.

On a magic level it's to stop giving into CUPS and instead work on the presentation and handling of the ones I already do.

I know for a fact that one will have gone for a burton by about Jan 5th!!

I'm not sure I should do this...it's like commiting into black and blue jobs that the missus has wanted me to do for ages...and things I've been promising myself fer ever...

Ok...I wlll this year be resolute and do the following:-

    Lose some weight...
As above - not give in to CUPS
    Get the decorating finished
Tidy the garden over this year so the neighbours don't frown anymore!
Magically speaking: I'll need to beef up my performance as well as technique!

That's enough for now...

I know what you mean Carlos about CUPS

On the magic front it has to be to spend more time reviewing and working on what I already have. :?

My better half and I have just bought our first house together, so this year on a personal level is going to be proving to myself that we can do it! Mortgage! Scary!

Magically, I want to finalise the script for the kids' show I keep talking about, have regular bookings by Easter, and by this time next year enough regular bookings to think about giving up 'normal' work and only do 'enjoyable' work. Equally scary!

I want to be a lot better at entertaining with just a deck of cards.

But mostly, I want to work hard so I pass my exams and don't have to resit, which would cause me to miss the cool elective in India I have planned!

Become prime minister. Or Mayor London. Power I tells you I want power.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

1. I am going to try to be a little more positive, (although it's not looking good at the moment)
2. Try to be more empathatic and tolerant towards others, (I still love my dog more then I love people)
3. Vote for Markdini to become Prime Minister of Canada, but it will be tough because the current Prime Minister actually fosters dogs and promotes animal welfare on his official website. Of course we did have a Prime Minister who made decisions by channeling his dead dog, so I'm thinking that may not be a great idea, so back to voting for Markdini.

Magically? Try to help out more magicians getting to where they want to be.

I'm not going to buy anything magical (except cards, and maybe a half dollar or two!) and I'm going to work through all the books and DVD's that I already have.

I'm going to try cutting back on the chocolate and the vodka and coke (or maybe just one, both might be pushing it a little)

Personal - Get my business up and running successfully.

Magical - Spend less time complaining that I'm bored and more time practicing.
Actually work out a routine for and perform the cabaret show that I've been talking about for ages.

Personal (again) - Stick to my resolutions
