What's Happened?

Postby Tubbycranker » Dec 13th, '07, 17:48

I occassionally peruse the boards of another forum - The Magic Cafe.

I haven't been able to log on for a few days, and the site seems to be down.

any ideas anyone?

The other domains hosted by their provider are down too. Looks like server trouble.

I was hoping that it had finally gone for good, but no.
They are having server problems. Again.

It looks like it's the DNS server at GMB Webworks is down. If I've read the diagnostics right, this is the master DNS server for the domain.

I'm just being curious, and I've never posted on the magic cafe, just perused it, but what do people have against the magic cafe? There seems to be a great distaste amongst members here.

And obviously, yes, it goes without saying that there is a more discerning member on TalkMagic!

I wanted to join the Magic Cafe earlier this week because I decided that if I joined 2 forums I could bore even more people with my pointless threads.. and also I think I saw something there about volunteering and doing free magic for practice but I haven't got the right email for them to register me! I have my aol emails and I have my hotmail email and none of them will do for them to register me! Hmph! They don't accept non-paying emals (like hotmail) and they have a problem with aol. Charming.

try bluebottle.com
Its a free email server wich use a pop3 server, you can use it like hotmail by visiting their site to see your mails or you can configure it on your outlooks or favorite email software.

It should work for every registration that blocks free emails.

Tubbycranker writes, in part: ". . .There seems to be a great distaste (for the Magic Cafe) amongst members here. "

I don't know about others, but there certainly is with THIS member!

And he asks further: "what do people have against the magic cafe? "

Well, having posted more than two thousand messages, I came under attack from a couple of wannabes; so, naturally, I defended myself.'

When I came back the next day, I found that my message had been dropped and I had been suspended for six months.

That was two years ago and I haven't been back since.

I don't need that crapola!

cheers,

I use to go on the cafe until I got banned for two PM's I sent asking two members on the forum that I was constantly PMing to come and look at a post on this forum that I had found. So after that I joined this forum, but I still do like the cafe since I did learn a lot on it. It really helped me get started in magic
