Michael Webber - Lifesavers

Postby Jelmo » Dec 14th, '07, 11:13

Anybody has this book? I would like a review on it if so.
It's supposed to be filled with tricks that are all impromptu.

Yes, I own this book. It has just been re-released by Richard Kaufman.
Michael Weber has put together a great book, here. Although, by Michael's own admission, the magic effects found within the pages of Lifesavers...are improvised, not impromptu.

What does he mean by that, you might ask. Well, simply put, most of the effects contained inside Lifesavers will need preparation. Some effects will require more than others.

Michael has some brilliant ideas throughout this book, but he warns not to make an entire act out of the tricks you learn. Rather, use the effects when the moment arises...presuming of course, you've done the required preparations for the effects.

I give Lifesavers my highest reccomendation. You will learn some killer effects and be able to apply what you learn to other magic effects.

Thank you for your reply. I assume these effects are close-up?
I think I'll put it up on my to-buy-list.

Right! Most all of the effects are for Close-up. However, some of the ideas can be altered to fit a Parlor or Stage presentation. Hope you enjoy Lifesavers.
