Airborne with Greatest of Ease VS Ultimate Airborne

Postby Jordan C » Nov 10th, '03, 20:44

I want to get an airborne drink effect. Two I have seen are as follows;

Ultimate Airborne http://www.emagictricks.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2938

and Airborne With the Greatest of Ease http://www.magicworld.co.uk/acatalog/Rare_and_Different_Magic.html

Both sound very good in their own right so I was wondering what the opinions are of others who maybe own one or both of these effects.

I've seen the "ultimate airborne" demonstrated and it does create a great suprise amongst people when used casually, although ive never seen the "airborne with the greatest of ease" looking on the site i would say that the only difference between these tricks would be the cup provided with the trick. See if you can get an image of both cups and decide which one you like because the gimmick will be virtually exactly the same.

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but this is a great stage illusion. I have this one:

Easy to do and looks impressive, well made props. I will post a full review soon.

Here are two you may want to look at if they are not the ones you already have listed. The only one I remember is the one Lance Burton did and I did play with it. I really liked the effect but found the gimmick to be a little finicky. However I am sure the technology has changed some.

Getting the gimmick to work naturally takes a small amount of practice, but it's easy to do. Not yet used it on stage (but plan to) and it does exactly what it says. The version I have, the bottle and glass are seperate before and after and you can drink from the glass. With some versions this is not possible.
It's a great illusion and one I should imagine will provoke great reactions. Not a close-up effect but great for that stage worker.

I have the Ultimate Airborne and agree with Lord Freddie, it's a great effect but it does need some practice.

The impression that most people have with this effect when they open it up is that it's an instant worker. It isn't although you should 'get the hang' of making it look natural in a short space of time through practice.

Good luck

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

It does take some handling practice, and although the props do most of the work, as with all magic props, to make it look natural and magical, the minimal of fumbling around has to be acheived.

It certainly is an impressive effect and very visual. The sort of thing that audiences really go for as it's quite unexpected. I think the best approach when performing it is to carry on talking and gesturing with your hand, not realising what you are doing.

Another great thing about this kind of effect, is that it is suitable for both adult and children's shows.

Is this the same effect that Dynamo did on some rap type at a party? Looked pretty impressive and he did it close-up too, however it was rather dark and urban so perhaps that's how he got away with it.

I was really into this effect but was really disappointed when I got it. I think it is the Ultimate Airborne version that I bought, but this entailed putting a gimmick into the top of a bottle (Image)
Which made it totally unnatural in most settings. You could not use any but rather the one provided. And furthermore nothing could be examined at all.

Now Freddie the one you have and are happy with, does it seem to have some of the problems I mentioned or does it work differently?

[edit]: nvm, just saw this
Not a close-up effect but great for that stage worker
.

I guess that was my problem, bought it for a close up effect.

No, the method on mine is totally different and far more discreet. You receive both the bottle and glass.
